SUZAN MALCOLM
'Sweet is the breath of morn, her rising sweet,
With charm of earliest birds.' John Milton 1608-1674
"April mornings, dawn chorus, buds bursting forth with blossom. One need look now further for inspiration than to marvel at the simplicity of it all. And if in paitning one can capture the energy, the transient beauty of reflected light on gentle blooms soon to be falling petals, then the day is indeed 'promise fulfilled'."
Suzan Malcolm was awarded a BA Hons at Edinburgh College of Art, before embarking on a career as a freelance botanical artist, a principal teacher of art and design and a university lecturer. She has more recently become a full time professional artist.
Although Suzan trained in ceramics and woven tapestry, she principally works in watercolour, mixed media and oils.
