Buying a piece of art or craft is easy and affordable.

You can buy anything by a living artist, and spread the cost in ten more manageable instalments. 

With Own Art, you can borrow between £100 to £2,000 interest free. Own Art is designed to make buying contemporary art and craft easy and affordable.

Participating galleries offer paintings, sculptures, prints*, photography, jewellery, metalwork, ceramics, glass, furniture, textiles and much more.

To make a purchase through Own Art, you must be 18 or older, you or your partner must be in permanent paid employment (over 16 hours a week), self employed or retired and recieving a pension, a UK resident (minimum of 12 months) and intending to remain resident in the UK, are able to provide acceptable proof of address and proof of signature (if applying in person) and are purchasing the product for consumer use, and not business use.

For applications in person, acceptable proof of residence includes a driving license, bank statement (dated in the last 3 months), public utility bill or council tax bill (dated in last 3 months), official document such as a mortgage statement from a recognised lender or a tenancy agreement, benefit book or original notification from the relevant benefits agency or HM Revenue & Custommers Tax Notification. 

Acceptable proof of signature includes bank credit/debit card, driving license, passport, police warrant card or HM Forces ID card.

If the application is made online or over the phone, and the artwork is delivered inside the premises on the address shown on the retail credit agreement, then no other proof of address is required. 

At The Whitehouse Gallery, the customer can either apply for an Own Art loan in person in the gallery, over the phone or online.  The decision is made instantly, although in some cases customers may be referred, and contacted once a decision has been made .  In most cases, following the application being accepted, there will be a 'cooling off' period of two weeks before the art can be taken by the customer. * In order for a print to be eligible on the Own Art scheme, the work must have been specifically designed and created by the artist using a printmaking technique in a limited edition of up to 150 only.
