A day trip to Langholm
Earlier in the week, we decided to brave the elements and drive out to Langholm. Our featured sculptor for the next exhibition, Elizabeth Waugh, lives on a farm just outside Langholm, and the recent bad weather has meant that they have experienced all types of problems, from flooding to a damaged track leading up to the farm. A brief break in the rainfall prompted us to go for it, with the promise of a warm bowl of soup on arrival.
It was lovely seeing Elizabeth and her daughter Fiona, as well as the three dogs Pip, Widget and Fleet the puppy.
After lunch, we all went up to the old Granary, where Elizabeth has a small gallery where you can see a huge range of her sculpture.
We loaded the work into the van, then off we went.
Elizabeth’s sculpture can be seen in our new exhibition, which opens this coming Saturday 6th February. Doors open at 11am. You can also view this, and the rest of the work by David Boyne, Kate Downie, Silvana McLean & Cat Outram online by clicking on this link.
