Name: Jennifer Watt

Medium:Sculpture

My work is inspired by natural organic forms and the beauty inherent in their designs. I search to create work which achieves a similar emotional response . I am moved by simple forms , clean and void of any unnecessary components, sculpture sincere to its form, material and surface. My work is mainly executed in clay or wood. The clay being cast in either bronze or resin both in limited editions.

Jennifer Watt was born in Dumfries and graduated at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee .  She lived and worked in Lincolnshire for 27 years before returning to her home near Thornhill in 2000.

Her sculptural work consists of pieces in wood, cement and Limited Edition work in bronze and resin.

Jennifer has exhibited regularly at Visual Arts Scotland in Edinburgh where she won The Powderhall  Bronze Award in 2007, The Society of Scottish Artists and at The Royal Glasgow Institute winning  The Inverarity One to One Travel Award in 2010.
