Name: Madeleine Hand

Medium:Paintings, watercolour

“I have recently enjoyed experimenting with watercolour, and love layering paint to try and create luminosity and harmony of colour.  I usually run with a theme and having visited the east coast of Scotland recently, I became transfixed by the wonderful wheat fields and the pathways slicking through to the horizon. Pylons and wind farms have also featured in my latest work.”

Madeleine Hand was born in Motherwell in 1959. She attended Glasgow School of Art from 1976-81, specialising in illustration, and then went onto a post graduate at Glasgow School of Art in 1981
