Peter is originally from Dorset and graduated from St. Martin’s School of Art in London in 1986 when he was a finalist in the ‘Readers Digest Young Illustrators Award’. After graduating, he practised as a freelance artist and illustrator until 1990 when he and his wife opened the Framework Gallery in Troon, Ayrshire.
Since then, Peter has exhibited at the Paisley Art Institute and the Royal Glasgow Institute Open Exhibitions where he was given the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Award in 2016. He also exhibits his work regularly in several galleries in Scotland, in both two-person and mixed shows.
Working mainly in oils, Peter enjoys painting a variety of subjects; from the wet streets of Glasgow and Edinburgh, old croft cottages and coastal scenes to sun-dappled Provence and Venice. In each, trying to catch the fleeting light that makes the subject come alive.
