Easter Weekend Review – Colin Blanchard, Printmaker

Colin Blanchard 'Winter Blackbirds' Linocut

Over the Easter weekend we had the pleasure of Colin Blanchard‘s company as our artist-in-residence here in the gallery.  Colin is an artist and printmaker extraordinaire who has work in many private and public collections.  Needless to say we were delighted that he agreed to come.

The aim was for Colin to show his methods (and work) and educate people about his process in a ‘drop in’ scenario.  He brought his ‘tabletop’ printing setup.  We had loads of visitors popping in for a chat and a chance to see a master at work.  Many also had a go at producing their own prints, from young to old it seems that everyone got a lot out of it.  One of the recurring comments was how inspirational people found Colin, his talent and enthusiasm really connected with everyone.

Many thanks to Colin for his company and for teaching us all about his exquisite work, we hope to have him back.  Please like our Facebook page to stay tuned for upcoming events.  Thanks.
