FORTHCOMING WINTER EXHIBITION

The Whitehouse Gallery in Kirkcudbright is excited to announce its first ever printmaking exhibition, which will take place over the winter months.

‘Winter In Print’ will run from 2nd November –  4th January 2025.

The exhibition preview is on Saturday 2nd November, doors will open from 11am – 5pm. All are welcome to attend.

Printmaking is the process of creating artwork by printing onto a variety of surfaces, most traditionally using a hand processed technique but it can also cross over into digital printmaking.  There are numerous techniques of printmaking in fine art, ranging from relief (woodcut, linocut), intaglio (collagraphy, etching), planographic (monotypes) and stencil (screenprinting).  It is rapidly gaining popularity amongst artists and art collectors alike, so we are delighted to be shining a spotlight onto this versatile medium this winter.

We welcome established printmakers, alongside emerging artists, with a lovely mix of works adopting a range of techniques, and including landscapes, still life, wildlife and much more.

Participating printmakers include:

Anne Skinner RSW, Babs Pease, Colin Blanchard, Deb Wing, Georgina Bown SSA, Gregory Moore, Hugh Bryden, Jane Walker, Jenny Martin RSW, Johann Booyens, Joshua Miles, Kittie Jones, Laura Boswell, Lesley Smith, Nicky Sanderson, Pamela Grace, Sarah Keast, Sarah Ross Thompson & Sheila Rodger.

As always, there will be new collections of ceramics by Carolynn Tripp and Georgie Gardiner; Ceramic sculpture by Helen Kemp and Karen Lainson; Jewellery by Sheena McMaster and Morag Lloyds;  Upcycled sculpture by Vicky Swift; Needlefelt sculpture by Zoe Stainton and much more.

Our upstairs gallery will also feature a selection of original paintings, for those craving a bit of variety.
