Anne Skinner RSW
Dundee based painter and printmaker Anne Skinner is a graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design where she studied Drawing and Painting under highly respected Scottish artists Alberto Morocco, Jack Knox and David McClure.
Anne’s work explores the fragments of memory which remain in our mind long after the experience has gone. Half remembered – half forgotten. Her response to the stimulus is never a literal translation but an interpretation of the essence of the subject.
As an established artist Anne has shown with numerous galleries and societies including the RSW, RGI, RSA as well as various commercial galleries in the UK and abroad. Her work is in the permanent collection at McManus galleries Dundee.
Recent exhibitions have included the RSW 2019 winter exhibition in Edinburgh where she was awarded the Alison Prosser Award and was favourably mentioned by Duncan Macmillian in the Scotsman review of the exhibition. In August 2019 she had a successful exhibition of her printmaking at the Dovecot Studios during the Edinburgh Festival exhibition.
She was awarded the Langside College Award at the annual RGI exhibition in 2009.
Anne works from her studio in Dundee overlooking the River Tay – often the inspiration for her work. Her printmaking is created at Dundee Contemporary Arts Print Studio.
Anne is secretary and member of the Hospitalfield Alumni Society as well as a VAS, SSA, Edge Textile Artists, and the printmaking group Print.room Dundee.
