Eleanor Cunningham
I studied printmaking at the Scottish College of Textiles – graduating in 1999. I regularly use elements of collage and print in my work as well as printing tools such as rollers and squeegees to create texture and layers.
My work is influenced by the natural landscape and often reflects scenes from the sea and shoreline as well as the countryside in East Lothian and other regions of Scotland.
I work mainly in acrylic paint and mixed media to create an abstract representation of places I’ve visited. My work is often formed of many layers of paint, paper and glazes – adding depth and interest. My more recent abstract work looks at erosion in the landscape and the textures created by the human footprint over time.
