Lynn Muir

I established my workshop in 1986 from my home in North Cornwall where I live with my husband and then young children.

Although my original art school training was in illustration I began making my wooden figures, wall pieces and boxes.
They are made mainly from driftwood, which I collect from my local beach close to home. They are then transformed with the help of my bandsaw, sanding machine, hand tools and acrylic paint into the varied characters, each telling their own story.
Although designs can be repeated each piece is individual, due to the nature of the wood and hand painting.

Humour is very important to me in my work. I enjoy using text and a play on words with the title of each piece.
