It was always my intention to be a maker having been very much influenced by my mum, who was one of the foremost cabinet makers in Scotland. However, working with wood was not something I enjoyed but I was particularly good at art, and I became increasingly fascinated by jewellery and working with metal.

Creating my own jewellery is a way of expressing my identity, who I am and what inspires me. I remember making daisy chains wiht my dad or walking past the sunflower fields when I lived in France, with their vibrant yellow leaves and dark centres. Now that I live by the sea, I find inspiration in the forms that are left in the sand, and pebbles and seaweed fascinate me too.

My work continues to evolve and I love the colour of well-chosen gemstones, and incorporating them into the pieces I make. The quality of the finished jewellery and its relationship with the wearer is of prime importance, as I make pieces to last a lifetime.
