I am an Artist who is inspired by the sculptural possibilities and tactile qualities of wool. Originally studying Ceramics B.A & M.A at U.W.I.C, Cardiff Wales I now totally love working in the newly discovered medium of Needle Felting.

I work in a similar way to using clay as I sculpt the wool into shapes which I then construct together to create the form of the animal I am making. Finally many layers of coloured wool are added to build up a rich depth of surface. Hand stitched detail provides another layer of colour and texture to each piece – a process that takes many hours and makes each sculpture totally unique.

I also enjoy combining carefully sourced reclaimed materials such as wire, wood, textiles, vintage illustration and vintage mill bobbins into my work that also reflects my interest in antique and vintage toys, further inspiration comes from my love and study of British wildlife.

I now live in Holmfirth on the edge of the beautiful Peak District National Park where I have lived for almost 16 years. I have divided this time between creating new work, raising my family, Community Art Commissions and being an Artist in Schools.
