2021 Winter Light

The Whitehouse Gallery in Kirkcudbright looks forward to another Winter Exhibition, with a large sprinkling of festive magic. ‘Winter Light’ will run from 6th November – 8th January 2022.

This mixed group exhibition includes a wide and varied selection of paintings, ceramics, mosaics, glass, textiles, sculpture, clocks, jewellery and much more, from extravagant purchases to unique, affordable gift ideas for Christmas.

We welcome one new artist to the gallery for this exhibition, Carol Kelly, with some of her beautifully gentle still life paintings.  Carol will be joined by a host of returning artists, with a varied mix of styles and subject matter.

Exhibiting artists include Allison Young, Anne Skinner, Carol Kelly, Clare Blois, Fiona Millar, Helen Tabor, Jackie Henderson, John Paul Raine, Kate Bentley, Kevan McGinty, Lindsay Maddon, Margaret Evans, Morag Lloyds, Nicola McBride, Pen Reid, Peter Dworork, Philip Raskin, Sandra Moffat, Sheryl Roberts, Shirley Spottiswoode and Tricia Barna.

New collections of ceramic framed tiles will be exhibited by Elaine Brett Rowlands, with new ceramics by Heather Armstrong, Sarah Lawson, Michelle Lowe and Shirley Vauvelle. We will be getting mosaic art from both Amanda Anderson and Morag Archer, new glass collections by Elizabeth Welch and Margaret Johnson and new Jewellery & Sculpture by Linda Lewin. Melissa James will also be giving us a new collection of Jewellery for Winter.  Therese Johnson will be exhibiting some of her handmade scarves and cowls, with new cushions by Jo Gallant, alongside quirky felted figures by Tree Huggery, wooden sculpture by Lynn Muir, clocks by Jill Stewart, copper bird sculpture by Katy Taylor and much more.

Please note: not everything is online, we will endeavour to photograph and add work to the gallery over the coming weeks.
