About the Artist
‘I aim to make pots that are both useful and beautiful. My decorations are drawn from the simple pleasures of gardening, foraging in woodlands and hedgerows, cooking and eating good food, and wild swimming and riding bikes.
All my pieces are carefully handmade on a pottery wheel or by rolling out slabs of clay. They are made from red earthenware clay coated in a creamy clay slip and then decorated with coloured slips and oxides. Once dry, the pots are bisque-fired to 1000ºC, glazed with a transparent glaze then re-fired to 1130ºC.’
