Spring in Her Step – Our Spring Exhibition so far

We are now just over a month into our Spring exhibition ‘Spring in Her Step’ so we thought that a little update would be just the ticket.  It’s been brilliant!  We are just out of the Easter Holidays which was really busy and we also had Colin Blanchard as our Artist in Residence over the Easter weekend.  So all in all, it’s been hectic.

We’ve seen a lot of great art go out of the door to new homes and that makes us very happy.  The indifferent weather seems to have made people determined to find something bold and bright and beautiful to light up their homes.  Big paintings have proven very popular, large landscapes and still lifes in particular – maybe it’s something to do with being immersed in something?  One of our favourites in the gallery at the moment is Carol Moore’s Figs & Lemons which has been getting a lot of attention.

Sculpture is very popular just now too.  Our clients are really loving strong shapes and bold designs, with a natural twist (just like the paintings) which we have lots of.  Amanda Andersen’s pieces have been delighted over by everyone who visits the gallery – one of the few we have left is this amazing ‘This is the Place‘ mixed media mosaic.

One of our favourite Craft series is Jacqui Atkins botanical themed ceramics.  We love them so much they have pride of place in our window display 🙂  Everyone stops to look at them!

If you haven’t got in to see this exhibition I would recommend coming soon – and if you did get here for the start I would come back because we have some different pieces in to replace the ones that have already went.  Get in touch if you see anything you want to talk to us about.
