A “preferences” cookie is used to remember user preferences and settings on a website. GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

When purchasing items from our website, please consider the following.

All items are unique. Therefore, although we will endeavour to photograph all new items which come into the gallery, please be advised that in some cases (ie. ceramics) items may not be absolutely identical to that shown in the image.

Although we do try our hardest to represent art work reliably through the images on this site, please be aware that the colours may not be completely accurate at all times, and may vary depending upon the computer or device they are viewed on.

Descriptions for each item have been given as accurately as possible.

Paintings are framed (unless otherwise stated) and the price will include this framing. If the customer would like to view the frames, please contact the gallery where a member of staff can help you.

Some paintings can be sold as unframed at the artist’s discretion, for a reduced price. Please contact the gallery if this is of interest.

We cannot be held responsible if an item sells in the gallery and on the gallery website simultaneously. In this instance, the customer who purchases something in the gallery will take priority. In the event of this occurring, we will contact the online customer to notify them of this, and will arrange a refund.

A deposit can be paid to secure a piece of artwork by contacting the gallery by phone or email, and paying over the phone with a credit/debit card or by sending in a cheque made payable to The Whitehouse Gallery. The remainder of the price should be paid up in full by the end of the exhibition. If a customer would like to pay the remainder up over a longer period, this is something which needs to be discussed with the gallery before committing to the sale.

Title to the work purchased will go to the customer upon full payment.

Once the work has been collected by or delivered to the customer, it is then the customers full responsibility.

Copyright. Rights to an image will lie with the artist or the artist’s estate, and therefore the image cannot be used for commercial purposes.

Gift Vouchers cannot be used online. To be used in the gallery, or arrangements can be made over the phone so long as a voucher is sent to the gallery to confirm purchase.

Minimum gift voucher amount £100 – maximum £1000.

Vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

* DELIVERY COSTS

Delivery costs are broken up into three categories:

Items under £100: £4.99 postage charge

Items over £100: free shipping

Items over £100 which require a specialist art courier: If there is no option to buy direct, the customer is requested to contact the gallery to obtain a quote. This covers work which is larger, more fragile or too valuable to post by standard courier.

In some cases (ie. furniture) it may not be possible for us to arrange a suitable means of shipping, so although we will try to come up with a solution, we cannot be held responsible should this not be possible.

All postage costs included are for UK addresses only. For any international postage, please contact the gallery on info@whitehousegallery.co.uk where a member of staff will happily obtain a quote. We are sorry that we no longer ship to Europe.

Work can be purchased online with the option of collecting in person, should the customer prefer. This will be offered as an option at the online checkout, and will negate the cost of delivery.

Using the website to make a purchase

We have Paypal in place to enable safe and secure online payments, as well as Stripe for card payments. Once the purchase has been made, the customer will receive an email to confirm this. Any refunds will be made through Paypal or Stripe, and can take up to ten days to be processed.

A new online addition is the ‘Novuna Finance’ option, please see ‘alternative payment methods’ for more information.

We will endeavour to dispatch your purchase within 1 working day, but please allow for 3-5 working days. If there is any delay with this, we will contact the customer to inform them of this.

Alternative payment methods

Customers can arrange to apply for an Own Art loan (Novuna Finance), where the cost of most artwork by a living artist is spread over ten months interest free on purchases between £100-£2500. This can be completed in person, or can be applied for online.

We are happy to take any payments with credit cards over the phone if the customer wishes. We take all major credit cards apart from American Express.

A cheque can be made payable to The Whitehouse Gallery. Please contact staff to let them know which work you would like to pay for, so that it can be reserved in your name.

All payments need to be made in pounds Sterling.

To arrange or enquire about any of the above, please contact staff to enquire about this on +44(0)1557 330223.

Money back guarantee

If you are not happy with your artwork, refunds can be given for any item purchased by paypal, stripe or by credit/debit card, so long as we are notified within 7 days following receipt of the item, and that the item is returned within 14 days. Please check all items upon delivery, and report any damage to us immediately. The gallery can offer a refund the customer on the artwork as well as postage & packaging costs (when paid by the customer) once returned goods are received by the gallery. The gallery expects the returned work to be carefully packaged, to avoid damage in transit.

Conditions of returns are that the items and packaging are received in the same condition as when they left the gallery, and that there is a receipt of purchase. The customer will be responsible for the cost of returning work (including insurance). If the work has been lost or damaged during transit when being posted to the customer, a claim will be made by the gallery with the relevant courier against the insurance paid for when shipping the work, and the gallery will reimburse the customer as well as be responsible for the collection of the damaged work. If a returning item is lost in transit, this is the responsibility of the sender to have taken out relevant insurance, and make a claim. A refund will not be made in this instance.

For in gallery purchases, if you have just changed your mind, we can issue a refund if the item is returned within 14 days of purchase. Otherwise, we can issue out an offer to exchange or a gift voucher at our discretion.

If you have purchased an item through Own Art, you have 14 day period cooling off period, after which you are tied into an agreement with Hitachi Capital. Please contact us for more information on +44(0)1557 330223 or info@whitehousegallery.co.uk.
